You can always tell that a restaurant is going to be good by the vibe that it gives off when you first enter the door. At Ottava Via, they definitely set the vibe that we were going to have a great meal. Their food is fresh and not too heavy, especially for our lunch. The atmosphere was perfect. Not too noisy or too quiet. Perfect for a nice lunch with friends!

Me and my family are frequent goers of Ottava Via, and it’s kinda like an abusive relationship lol. When it’s great, it’s absolutely great- some of the best pizza in the city! We frequently get the short rib pizza and it’s absolutely delicious. My only complaint is that it’s different almost everytime. Some days there will be a sufficient amount of toppings on the pizza, with garnishments like herbs, peppers, onions, ext. Other days I order it and receive a pizza that’s still delicious- but all the sudden there’s absolutely no parsley, peppers, or onions, and just like 4-5 pieces of small short rib. I always like to say that I really hope the ‘ good ‘ chef is there that day cause it can be really dissatisfying to open the box sometimes. The service is always exceptional, so much so I was nervous to even tell a bartender about the differences. There’s always someone behind the counter who is sweet and kind! I decided to write this as I was trying to place a carryout order and nobody answers the phone a lot of the time. So communication should definitely be looked at my upper management. This was our first time at Ottava Via. They do not have any dedicated parking or valet, but plenty of free spaces around the block were available. Their regular menu pastas and pizzas were great, but we did not like the on- special pasta, which was too lemony for it taste. The cacio pepe and margarita pizza were really good. This bread is also worth ordering. I was not impressed by their interpretation of tiramisu.

town for work and popped into Ottava Via for dinner. We managed to snag a couple spots at the bar and I had the best mushroom butter truffle pasta of my life. The restaurant was packed because of the time and the Tigers game, but the service was still incredible. Rich, flavorful, and exactly the kind of pasta that makes your heart happy. Already can’t wait to go back!
